Will anyone have a mascot as big as Mario ever again, i doubt it. But what Sony have already surpassed everyone in is not being scared of constantly creating new IP. Which keeps things fresh and exciting.
This year alone were seeing Last of Us, Knack, Puppeteer, Beyond two souls, soul sacrifice, LBP Karting, Battle Royale and already a load more announced that we will see released in 2014. No doubt they wont all be lasting brands, but id rather lots of new stuff than seeing sequels and spinoffs year after year with 20-30 year old characters
