Well the financial figures over that period do show Nintendo were in fact making more money than sony in the ps2/ps1 era in all but 1 year. While Nintendo weren't winning regards of market share they were winning in regards to profit.


That's what I'm talking about. I wasn't on forums back then but were people claiming the same thing during that generation?

Probably, as the sales figures wouldn’t be that hard to find even back then. Even without them I don't think it would that controversial to think that Nintendo were holding their own or even beating Sony at the time. As Nintendo were selling a lot more First Party Software than Sony and it's easy to realize you make several time more on successful First Party Software than do on Third Party royalities. Add to that domanting in Handheld console/software sales at the time and Pokemon massive success also.
