I don't think this is very accurate at all. Take reddit.com for example which has a massive gaming community. It has predominately been partial to Nintendo and Microsoft. It's only the last 2-3 months when Microsoft dropped the ball that things started swaying in Sony favor, but before that you would hardly see any Sony stuff on there. Even when people posted about last gen games they would almost always use xbox covers when PS2 outsold it by massive numbers.
I was walking down along the street and I heard this voice saying, "Good evening, Mr. Dowd." Well, I turned around and here was this big six-foot rabbit leaning up against a lamp-post.
