| Sleepyprince said: All in all, they're too much useless mecanic, the game is quite ugly, it is slow paced, not that funny and the features are average at best. The game also suffered from the decision about the whole "dlc character that are already on the disc". But even without this bad reputation, the game is clearly not a good fighter. You can have some fun with it, and it is worth 10$ ( no more ). |
This pretty much sums it up.
Capcom not only rushed this out the door before it was ready, but threw a bunch of random mechanics into a game without making sure they all stuck. Also, the gem system itself was clearly set-up as a pay-to-win scheme despite the game itself being $60. I was super excited for the game; Tekken and Street Fighter have been two of my favorite gaming series for years. It also could've done a lot to help bring new players in while making it competetive at a high level if it had panned out.
But Ono and the rest of the team fucked it up. Even with the 2013 patch, as you said, the game is still only semi-decent now instead of being out-and-out bullshit.
I'm more interested in Tekken x Street Fighter now, mainly because it'll be a lot harder to integrate Street Fighter characters into the Tekken system while keeping everything balanced. I want to see whether or not they'll pull it off.
