Region lock really pisses me off. Who cares? Just get rid of if. They make money whether we import it or not.

I live in Japan, but I am originally from Norway.

Yes, I can read and understand a lot of Japanese, but of course I prefer to play games in English. If my PS3, Vita, PSP, DS, etc were not region free, I believe my gaming habits would've been seriously changed. Of course it was my own decision to move to Japan, but why should people in my situation be ignored? Even worse, what about foreigners living here in Japan without being able to speak or read Japanese (they are MANY)? Yes, they (and I) can import the console itself... but that is not really something I would do personally...

Region Lock is pre-historic and if a console is region locked, I will simply not buy it. It is as simple as that...
