Sony's ticking all the right boxes this gen. Gotta wonder what shoutdowns happened behind closed doors during last gen.

Mark Cerny happened for the PS4. That's what happened.

I hope we see a new console this gen that can recapture the PS2 glory days. Rich experiences, some creative risks - the indie front seems to be in form for it -, a minimum ammount of drama and a focus on gaming being fun once again. We need a console that can define a generation of new gamers that are coming up now, something to give them nostalgia later on, something they'll remember fondly . A new Mario, a new Sonic, a new Crash Bandicoot or heck...anything that people can remember fondly - I'm not saying new games in those series -.

I think there's that on every single console released so far.

It's just that people have a tendancy to be nostalgic. As you get older, you don't get excited nearly as much at the things you experience. Things start feeling more of the same. Not as fresh as they once were. It's like that with most things in life. Heck, it's like that with the people you meet as well.

When you're younger, you still dream quite a lot, you still have quite a bit of naivety...

I know a lot of people will remember the good old days of Lost Odyssey, Bioshock, Gears of War, Uncharted, etc...

Just the same as people remember FF VII as the best in the series and the PSX as their favourite gen ever... I preferred FF VI by quite a margin, but I can still say that all the generations I've gone through and all the consoles I've owned offered me some really quality gaming experiences that I'm sure I'll remember for years to come...
