What? The origional Xbox could do 8 textures per pass maybe via loop back.

As for the Ram, The Xbox needs to use 16Mb of the 64Mb for just the Z-buffer, On the gamecube that's implemented in hardware at no cost, so the amount of memory each console has actually ends up very similar.
