Firstly, it's not just 'veggies' that sit on their high horse. It's almost every human being who is part of some exclusive club. So in just the same way you shouldn't think someone is a 'white-superiority' believer just because he's white, one shouldn't think the same of someone who is following a meat-free diet. The argument you are making has been done to death and it is completely without any reason. If you would like me to elucidate the differences between plants and animals then I'm sorry I don't have the time because it is a very, very long list. In fact, using the same argument one might as well proclaim the right to feed off 'lower' races of human beings. One can make so many arguments. But the fact is that any person who's lived with animals and grown up with a non-violent diet doesn't need to be told why eating animals is rather cruel. Just say it tastes good and that's why you eat it, because arguing for something that has negative effects on your body, the economy, the planet's ecology and a myriad of things that I've discussed to death at university lectures is just plain ignorant. My best friend loves meat and I don't give a crap and we never argue. He knows for a fact that it would be better not to, but he likes doing it so he does. I'm not on a high horse with regards to this subject. |
