Just quoting you so you can see my post.

Ur right they may sell at a small loss Iif they cut it by $100 next April but they should easily be able to make up for it with software sales. Pokemon X/Y, 3D World, Mario Kart 8, DKC Tropical Freeze, Wii Fit U, will all have long legs and sell well throughout next year. $50 cut in August/Sept wont have as many big releases to offset hardware losses so thats a big reason I think they may wait.

I just hope the system won't be forgotten to obscurity when the other consoles are released.

I honestly dont think it will. New marketing campaign plus an exclusive releasing every 2-3 weeks or so starting in Aug until the end of the year will surely give it a sizeable boost. On Black Friday I suspect we will see the Basic all the way down to $199 just to get rid of them and $299 Deluxe bundles with an additional game.

Nothing is goimg to prevent the new consoles from sellimg well this holiday since they will mostly be to huge Playstation or Xbox fans. Early next year when thr launch hype had died down is the right time to strike hard. Officially discontinue thr basic, drop deluxe to $250 alongsidr Mario Kart 8 will boost sales exponentially, Smash a few months later in the summer will keep momentum going.
