that is just outright plain cruelty!!
thankfully in my country we only eat what's been sacrificed in the islamic tradition which means: cut the throat with a sharp knife very fast so the animal will not suffer for a long time and after they have passed away then they start chopping the parts. not to mention the animals always gets treated kindly until...
its not the best way but its a long running tradition.
