A lot of times the humans, I'm speaking off do not do that to animals because they can't even afford to but the fellow humans worried about the animal abuse don't care. Compassion is a great thing but is not something that can ever be achieved species-wide especially universal compassion not just selective compassion. There may be no one who actually possesses universal compassion i.e compassion for everyone/thing.
