Honest Question: What's so good about the Last of Us?

i ment: don't play games with interesting stories and/or characters. and most reviewers these days easily get blinded by a hype as well because let's face it, gameplaywise are both bioshock infinite and and the last of us nothing groundbreaking. and for 10/10 scores gameplay should be special as well. 

So what a lot of people have been doing is separating the story, atmosphere, and characters apart from the game. These are all part of every game to me. You are taking them away and then saying the game is nothing special? Of course its nothing special if you take away those things because that is what this game is about. You make no sense when you say something like that. The story is great and the gameplay is great. It all blends together into one of the best games I have ever played. How could the gameplay be changed to make this game better? What are some groundbreaking innovations in gameplay that you wish to see in this game?
