Just so you know you do not need to be in movies to be an actor. There is plenty of actors everry single day trying to make it and you know very little about this as your posts clearly shows. One of the first things you learn as an actor is you are a product that you are trying to sell. This includes voice, face, and your craft. I know of one person on this site who has had great discussions with me who is typecasted because of a specific look she has. Your looks and your voice and the roles you play coincides. Coming from a person who takes acting seriously I am disapointed in the behavior of this thread. Acting is much more than moving around in front of a camera and it takes great work and passion to portray the truth while maintaining an interesting aspect. I can't express enough that it is a 24/7 job and plays a lot with your emotions so show a little respect. |
Thank you Jay, you put a more eloquent spin on the reply I'd have given.
To answer the question, I'm a stage actor first and foremost as I love live performance. Musical theatre is my preference although I also enjoy comedy and some Shakespeare occasionally. I'd consider film in the future but its a different set of skills and a lot more subtle acting style. As Jay said, as an actor you are selling yourself for work. A lot of success comes from having a unique image, that is what makes you valuable. This instance is hardly likely to damage her image but that's not the point.
