Honestly for what MS was trying to do they covered alot of bases, they still had discs for those who wanted to avoid downloads or not buy direct from ms. they kept the check in file small, and allowed for it to be done on cell phone hot spots. dont get me wrong, im not against digital downloads but the thing is MS wants to force this upon us, there is NO reason what so ever that we need to get rid of physical disks but MS wants to restrict that. also, even in a connected device there is no reason to have check ins every certain amount of time, i can disable my 3G on my phone and use it forever, with the xbox1 that wasnt the case, you didnt even own the hardware back then as you just had access to it for as long as microsoft allowed it so. there are so many features that can be implimented while being connected online and im all in for those features, but MS is trying to enforce unneeded restrictions to have more control. digital game sharing is a good feature and one that i do like, but microsoft is only willing to do it if they impose ridiculous restrictions on the user.

they are reasonable restricitons. a once every 24 hour check in is not unreasonable in this day and age. I cant see how you can be so anti what MS was trying to do. MS is not forcing anything, they cant force you to buy an xbox one. I dont know why you keep implying they are removing choices and forcing people. PC, PS4, Wii U, tablets, cell phones, they all play games, people can choose to get any one of them. they also were trying to keep discs and digital as close as possible, they never tried to get rid of discs. I dont know where you got that idea from. they were just trying to bring us into a digital ecosystem, while still having options for those with data caps on their internet, or those who would prefer to buy from a retail store. I also do not know what you mean by you do not own the hardware. seems to me like you are just throwing things out there, and hating on ms without really looking into things. which is ok. but what they were trying to do is worth a look, as its what is coming. from any software maker.
