Blah, this article isn't a big deal, it only talks about $quare Enix Montreal moving to mobile and I don't care what happens to Hitman...

First they came for Hitman, and you didn't speak out because you don't like Hitman.

Then they came for Tomb Raider, and you didn't speak out because you don't like Tomb Raider.

Then They came for Deus Ex, and you didn't speak out because you don't like Deus Ex.

Then they come for everything, from Final Fantasy to Dragon Quest, and I still didn't care because those series got killed off for me over a decade ago. Squeenix can die in a fire, and I might eventually notice maybe.

Well, I don't know how bad are FFXII and FFXIII (and its sequels), so for me the FF series is not dead, maybe if I play them I will think it's dead :P

Final Fantasy isn't dead, but at least within certain fans ideas they sort of dropped the ball when it comes to their last few sequels. Which actually isn't even a surprise since Square predicted that after IX (which was retro on purpose) their future releases would stray from the earlier games and really since XI they have all been unique and new experiences. But really a lot of fans are still nuts over VII so they are in a perfect damned if you do, damned if you don't when it comes to those guys. XIII added a lot of new ideas but the product they released felt unfinished and if the sequels are any indication much like the system used in XII it is likely to be abandoned.

They also dropped the ball with the DQ X, trying to grab the cash via MMOPRG subscriptions and what could have been an easy million+ seller if it would have been a straight up normal RPG in Dragon Quest tradition got flipped into just another black sheep of a proud franchise that just came off one of its best/popular and original releases in DQIX.

So, basically Square Enix has only themselves to blame, along with unrealistic expectations on their own titles within a fiscal period.
