Yes they can. Thats the main point.
The only reason they are taking that away is because when they had DRM they tried to sell it by saying all this other stuff now becomes possible. Since that was all very very very public, they obviously cant take away DRM and then keep those features. That would mean their original press releases and PR was all blatant lies? Thats damn near illegal.
