Oh, that's... First of all, it is not much weaker. The WiiU is, Xbone is not. Then, price is in no relation to power. Then, price you pay for consoles depends on how much loss companies think will still turn out good in the long run. Then, Kinect-price can't be guessed properly. Then, your post seems to be not well thought through :) |
$300 does seem to low...i believe an insider at Sony said to Pachter that realistically they probably couldnt go to $350.
Personally i think if Kinect is dropped MS can go to $399 and possibly $350.
The only major difference between the two systems is RAM type and GPU cores (12 vs 18). Sony is probably paying AMD more for the APU. This is the only cost factor that can actually have a major impact on price and i think that is what NYCrysis was getting it.
And price does have a direct relation to power. Especially in this case when the two systems are directly comparable. The price you pay for consoles is determined by the manufacturing costs as well as the amount the manufacturer is willing to subsidize.
And I think the Kinect price can be approximated based on the price of the current Kinect and a bit of extrapolation.
