Oh i totally agree.
Microsoft is a company that thinks consumers are idiots and for the most part they are. They just underestimated the dumbness too much this time, so they are pulling it out for the time beeing so it doesnt become a risk to the console's viability.
Once the Xbox1 is established they will ease things back into it. You can be sure of it. They WILL force cosumers to do their bidding. And because we all know a good part of them really are dumb, they will pull it off to some degree.
