That's what I've been telling people. It is inaccurate to use the Wii U for a number of reasons. Most people see the Wii U an an extension of the current gen and not a leap, so it is reasonable to see why the sales were not spectacular (plus the added feature was not special). Mostly the hardcore Nintendo people were the ones who suggested this though, so it's no surprise.
