Did you read the headline of the article you just referenced? It said revenue, not profits. There is a big difference.

Also from the article:

"Windows Division revenue was $5.703 billion, up 23 percent on the same quarter a year ago. However, $1.085 billion of this was revenue taken in previous quarters for the Windows Upgrade Offer. Excluding this, revenue was $4.618 billion, essentially unchanged year on year."
