Hurray! The future is halted! No disc free gaming, no cloud based sharing, we have today, won a great victory against progress!

If you consider the other things "progress" then okay. Whatever you say.

the 'other things'? The only restrictions (24 hour checkin, no used games) was in order to allow the new system to function. And yes, some things must be given up in order to progress. My friends and I having a massive, discless shared library, where only 1-2 of us needed to buy each game was an exciting prospect. Logging on a friend's Xbox and having my entire games library waiting for me sounded awesome as well. Having an Xbox upstairs and one in the living room, and never needing to worry about swapping discs or buying a second copy? Yes, that's progress.

Do you also view online PC platforms like steam to be a step back from visiting a retailer and buying games? digital distribution has the same restriction on used gaming, and yet people see it's increase as clear evidence of progress. are all the cries of complaint so convincing that so few can see this is the same?
