Installs were needed because of long access times to cut down on loading.
I already predicted the day tha they said 8gb that we would see the end of load times.
Suddenly, every game seems to be open world with no loading.
Xb1 requires installs because of drm, not to improve performance. They also said they wanted the xb1 to have seemless transitioning between voice commands and launching programs. I very much doubt that we are going to be seeing a lot of installs or loading on ps4.
