Im not going to argue these points but make a single point...

We don't know where this new path Microsoft was going to lead to. For people that want their disks and to stay with the current status quo, there was the awesome PS4.

Xbox One was doing something different. Right now we have 2 consoles with downright identical components that work exactly the same and will have 90% of the same gaming library.

We lost a choice as consumers and gaming industry lost a possible path that may be the better way.

For now at least...I see this coming back in a few years.

it absolutely will come back and it won't take years to see it.

i don't think this really changes MS's digital strategy in any significant way.  xbone won't feel like a 360 and neither will the ps4.  i personally think you're being overly dramatic about how much of a reversal this is.  all this does is seperate their retail and digital strategies giving consumers the choice of what works best for them.  guys like you and me will still see amazing new things come digitally and when the rest of the market can see those benefits come to life they'll join us.  they'll join us when they're ready.
