Let's be honest, everyone watched their E3 presentation for one thing and one thing only Jackie T Playstation 4, that minor 10mins they spent talking about the ps3 is considered a down point for everyone even though the showing was good.
You can't have it both ways, focus on lots of Vita goodness and still present a jam packed section for the ps4, they only had so much time to show off everything and they did it the best they figured they could.

Exactly 100%, its pretty Moot at this point, many see the Price as really the only real problem of the PSVita, and that goes for publisher's, even though the Price for what's in the PSVita is more than reasonable. that is a fact that the price of the PSVita was the very same launch price of the Nintendo 3DS and its Hardware is way more robust, but Nintendo's Price drop on the 3DS was what has done the main damage to the PSVita's viability in the market for not only Sony but also because of many big Publisher's wait for install base to grow before they invest, but consumer's will not buy the PSVita based on PRICE Perception and also based on publisher support the damage to the PSVita's perception of viability Has already been done, pretty much like it was done to the PS3 for the first few year's.

over Time the support will be there for the PSVita because Sony designed the PSVita as a companion device for the system of the PS3 and mainly the PS4. As i see it, Sony just may make the PSVita the very last Handheld they even make, concentrate on Smart Devices and if there would even be a dedicated handheld game system made for Sony at this point it would be made by Licence by other companies, Its Playstation Mobile program is a key point that without having to make Hadware they can just sell the software for Mobile devices other's make instead of themselves. Low cost increased ROI by indie pub's being able to self publish, mainly like Android and Apple's iOS.

Because that is the Direction, I think Sony is going to move their Mobile Game platform into anyway. Because with Mobile smartphones and Tablets taking the Lions share of Hardware sales, the software sales are what is important for the bottom line they just purchased the entire Sony Ericsson line , and instead of making a dedicated game handheld, Sony may move on to Just Smartphones that you can just add a bluetooth wireless game pad too, many of the other companies like Samsung are doing just that. Even Apple is doing such. Add a game pad support to a smartphone with no physical game pad built in , and let people purchase a game pad if they want.

I think Sony would be able to compete in this space because the Hardware will still be set to be just like the PSVita still Arm Cortex powered but , with games being built for smartphones and Tablet's instead of a Dedicated Handheld.
