I think even a lot of non collectors like to own what they have. Movies can be bought much cheaper through digital and there are a lot of people that still purchase Bluray movies. Some people have wall to wall bookshelves full of DVDs and Blurays. I know only one person personally, but I've been to someones home who had a ton of movies.

Gamers are the same. There are people who like all digital, like one of my best friends. After he started purchasing games, he purchases all digital. He doesn't have a PC which I try and talk him into getting because he'd like PC gaming better because he does do all digital. Cheaper, better graphics and framerate. But then other friends I have, even the ones that don't collect, don't like purchasing digital because they don't get anything with it.

I guess having a physical item makes most people feel they have ownership and they've spent their money more wisely over people who have hundreds or thousands of items all in digital format..

Don't get me wrong though. Digital format is great, honestly. For me if I didn't have to own every game I liked then I'd love to be all digital. Everything I have accessed whenever I want through a couple clicks from anywhere. I wouldn't have all these physical items taking up so much space, etc. So I see where people who like digital are coming from. Just not for me..
