I use Steam, but only if the game is exclusive for PC or digital exclusive on consoles. I like to collect my games so disc format will always be better to me, regardless if it doesnt hit 60-120fps and have better graphics. Unless of course I can get the game for dirt cheap on Steam and the console version is a joke. The other thing is I don't like DRM at all, digital included, so if I can't get something less than $5 on PC, unless it is disc based with no DRM, which is rarely going to happen, then I won't get it at all. So most of my games on Steam are from Humble Bundles where I got the games for dirt cheap. Few of them are games I paid to get through sales like L4D 1 and 2($5 in a bundle,) Cthulu Saves the World and Breath of Death 7($1,) the Last Remnant($3,) Terraria($0,) etc. |
I actually understand your case as I have 2 friends that are in the same boat. They like to collect and physically own games or so they explained it to me. Totally understand this...but this point of view has to be a minority. Most people get games to play them and they don't care if a disk is in the console and a game box is on the shelf no?
