That's the thing though...why do I give a flying fuck that Xbox lost the generation? I am not an xbox fanboy. I personally don't think they would have lost anything but maybe the first few years in sales. But I really don't care if they are in last place.
Xbox One digital strategy genuenly had features that sounded very appealing to me and I wanted to see what their vision for digital console gaming is all about. Why is that so hard to believe? Instead we are getting a half baked digital/disk based DRM that is a generation behind rest of the cutting edge consumer goods.
Pretty much anyone that has been gaming on the PC and knows how DRM works knows the advantages and isn't bitching about the Xbox One. Majority of the people bitching about this here are uneducated or just scared of change...there are those that are trashing the Xbox with anything they can get and don't care either way. I'm not saying that people that trully can't access the internet on a daily basis don't exist...but these people don't post on VGchartz on a daily basis.
Either way you look at it, consumers got "choice" but lost features and other choices in the process.
