How do you gauge that? |
For me at least. A loyal fan is someone that given 2 equal items will choose the item that supports the company they are a fan of. a fanboy is someone that chooses loyalty regardless of quality/value/enjoyment between the 2 items in question. For instance I have an Xbox 360, a Ps3 and used to have a Wii (though admittedly ditched that a few years ago now). As a loyal Xbox fan I choose to play console multi plats on the 360 when there is no significant difference between the PS/Xbox version, I use Netflix on my 360 instead of my PS3 and I usually purchase in XBL instead of PSN. My purchasing decision of which console I buy first will be based on which has the best opening games lineup for "me" and the best media features for "me", if I think they are roughly equal I will go with Xbox and get the Ps4 at a later date, if I think the PS4 is better then I will do the reverse. First and foremost I am a "game fan", Be it PC/MS/Nintendo/Sony. I am currently still undecided with a preorder in for both platforms (will cancel one of those preorders closer to release).
