indie shouldn't be about throwbacks to old days , it is supposed to be about pure innovation.

this is backwards thinking.

 

The progression of game development from 8bit to today can be seen as a linear path...

What could be more innovative than going back to a point in time and diverging from that linear path to make completely different genres never thought of before?

Show me a Terraria made around the days of the SNES....
