GS was a ripoff because people were stupid and traded/bought from them. If MS policies went through these types of non-deals would be the ONLY choice you have as you were forced to use Gamestop/BestBuy/Amazon/Walmart/etc for trade-ins and used gaming.

However, now you have the real choice of still using person to person, Craigslist, eBay, etc. That is where the real deals are for used games anyways. Selling and buying a game is ALWAYS a better deal through person to person channels than any retailer. Better for the seller and buyer. Your want for MS policy would have destroyed this option and definitely cost resellers/used buyers more.

1. It clearly states that disc based games will not sync with your profile in that article. While saves and settings still may sync its not very likely.

2. MS has ended for BC compatibility in 10 years when next set of hardware hits the market? How? 

3. When you go look for sales, you buy whats on sale. You're saying people have to go to best buy and look for game deals and then pray that some of those deals apply to digital slips and game codes? Yeah...

4. Easier said than done. Buying a disk can be more convenient and cheaper. Less install time... People will give you disks as gifts. WTF do I do with those? Sell them and re-buy the games digitally? 

5. Most people don't have time to post ads and deal with strangers on subway lines to resell games. Ideal digital reselling would by far be the best option. Whoever does this in the near future will start a revolution.

1) its referring the entire GAME. Not save or your profile. Something MSony have both already stated their Live/PSN+ systems will do.

2) MS has ended it THIS generation. What makes you think they will bring it back next? Maybe in the same fashion as Sony is Gaikai or Nintendo's VC service where a nominal fee allows you to buy the "upgraded" streamed version.

3) Sales are advertised and if they are having a sale on a disc copy... it doesn't make any sense the digital one being bought in store wouldn't have same deal. Hell, typically the digital one will likely have the better sale as has been the case many times with WiiU so far. (as well as the opposite) Patience is key here.

4) Now you're just being unreasonable. You can always take back in unopened disc for cash or tell people... "hey, if you're planning on buying a game, please buy Xbox Live gift cards instead!" Basically this is such a minor variation its pointless to discuss. What if my internet goes down and I can't get to Live to buy it?!?!?!?

5) lol CL and eBay are a lot easier than you're making it out to be. I use eBay personally and its cake. I order boxes/bags for priority mailing to my house. I buy the postage via paypal and tape it to said priority mail boxes. I then drop off on way to work in blue bin. Just not that hard and I save a ton of cash which allows me to buy many more games without my wife complaining about the expense.

Digital reselling was limited to ONE time only. That is not convienant. Bought used? Its done. Plus you'd have to plan it 30days in advance in order to be Live friends long enough. They'd need to allow digital transfers to anyone without any restrictions beyond the force of it only being one legit copy (like a disc). That would be perfect, but won't ever happen.

2. I actually don't think console reboots will happen the way you think ever again. Becuase if they do reboot this again in 8 years, everyone will laugh at them and tell them to take a hike because Android and iOS gaming devices are available with massive libraries that can do the same. The hardwre spec war is starting to reach its limits and software war is where its at...

3. Again maybe you are right but sounds more work than checking the weekly flyer and going to buy a game thats on sale
