What disolitude has said. He hit the nail on the head. Can you imagine the backlash from retailers for not getting a cut of XB1 sales? Also, since games are so large in size this reduces to wait time vs downloading a game. For example, It took me 2 hours just to download Dead Space 1 on Games on Demand and that was around 7 gigs. It would take me 6+ hours just to download a next gen title if they are indeed 20+ gigs, and this is with high end tier DSL speeds.
It's to ease the next generation (or the one after) into digital gaming, and a great idea by MS.
I just wish MS showed the sharing featuring at E3, it would reduce a lot of hate.
It's just that simple.
