Next gen games may be like 10-20 GB in size if not more... Some people with internet caps may have issues with this hence they can get the disk to bypass the downloading part. Disk is just a distribution method.

Its also there to make sure retailers don't stup selling the Xbox One. They want a cut of game sales too...

I can see your point, but doesn't the Xbox One let you play games as you download them, or is that just the ps4? So it really doesn't matter how long a download takes especially if the console allows you to download stuff in a low power mode or something so it can keep downloading uninterrupted from start to finish.

I don't know what the average caps are for Internet data usage, but unless you are downloading like 5-10 games a month I don't see that being too much of an issue.

The retail part makes sense for retailers, but I don't see how the consumer benefits.
