Exactly WHAT message is Microsoft going to broadcast that will get millions enthused for a console that is less powerful than a rival, who is selling theirs for $100 less?

What is that message?  I don't see a message there.  I see a bunch of elements being thrown at a wall, hoping some stick.  But, I do not see what the message is. 

And just because a lot of money is thrown about, doesn't mean success.  There is a statement that has been said: The way to make a problem an expensive problem is to throw a lot of money at it.
