digital downloads - exclusive on xbox one

Cl

As far as rest, they have nothing to do with digital resources. They are content resources. If PS4 ran Android, you could argue that there are some digital resources that Sony could share between platforms.

And this is before we get in to the patents that both comanies have available to them for digital and cloud computing.

Once again, were are you getting that Sony only has 1/10th of the digital resources MS has? I'm still waiting.

MS cloud computing is not just an xbox feature, it's been there just not as talked about as MS is currently doing.

Content resources is what makes digital recources available. Without the content, you have no digital resources. And Sony is loaded with them.

Apps, movies, tv, music, cloud computing, multitasking, game share, game upload, voice control,  Yeah not exclusives to the Xbox.

Well for one I work with cloud services and know the juggernout Microsoft is in this area. Amazon and Microsoft tend to duke it out with rest getting the scrapps. I can't give you the actual figure but no one anywhere talks about Sony when it comes to cloud computing...

The real benefit of this "cloud computing" for xbox one is not processing power but availability. Microsoft is making it available and free for all devs to use their cloud servers. Sony is not doing this because they cant. They don't have the scale. Some games can use the same cloud computing features, but it won't be the standard...

Content resources are great to have but if you've looked at different digital outlets lately, the stuff Sony has is not exclusive to sony devices and platforms. They tend to go to all devices that have market penetration. I have the entire Sony catalogue of music at my fingertips on Xbox music.

The reason MS brings out Cloud Computing so much is because they need to compete with the PS4.

When Sony was asked about :"But what about Sony's next-gen machine? Sure, it can stream games via the cloud-powered Gaikai. But can it also follow Microsoft's step in offloading computation to the cloud? "Of course," Sony's Shuhei Yoshida said.

and: "We don't believe every title needs that," he said. "But if your title needs [an] online connection to provide some online features: Go for it."

The PS4 will be pwerful enough to not need Cloud but if a dev needs, they will have access.

I think the difference is MS will be providing the Cloud infrastructure with Azure for the developers to do this as well as new APIs in the Xbox One SDK to further take advantage of Azure services, new Azure services specifically created for Xbox One, etc. While Sony will likely tell developers go ahead and use cloud were not stopping you. Then developers will determine what cloud infrastructure to use. Some may use Azure (wouldnt that be funny), some will use Amazon, some Rackspace, etc. Some will simply have thier own server infrastructure and use those.  Basically MS is establishing standards and services for Xbox One games and Sony is saying were not stopping you from reaching out across the internet to do other things.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.
