To be honest i had no idea it would cost Brasil (eu escrevo à português mesmo!) so much money. But, and i don`t know how Brasil is doing financially, but it seems that either there is money and it isn`t being used to develop the country or there isn`t and they made the mistake of paying too much. Also, it`s not true that the money made by tourists will end up in the hands of who already have them. Local business is sure to flourish and not just hotels and restaurants. In the end, this is an investment that is supposed to, at least on the long term, make Brasil na attractive place for tourists. Should people`s health and education be taken care first? Of course. But that, by itself doesn`t invalidate na investment - too bad it seems to be out of proportions - given the cost. |
like she said the gyu that sells icecream on the beach is going to have a great month, but that is not what we need right now. Brasil needs education and health.
