Well shit, if this is accurate then I'm impressed. The pre-orders made me think it'd come short of 1m week one, turns out it'll come close to UC3 at 1.35m & GoW3 at 1.4m (please fix ioi) which is almost unbelievable. See Sony, when you make an effort with advertisement & media coverage your games sell very well, well the immense word of mouth due to the game being critically acclaimed probably helped too! :P
