Anyways publishers like SCE, EA, Ubisoft, Take-Two etc also come up with new stuff every now and then.

Ninendo games are like what I've said. Regardless they may have good gameplay, but I wouldn't be bothered to find out.

By saying that, you are proving yourself to be as close-minded as you claimed he was for "not trying out" what you refer to as "mature" games (Which in all honesty, I'm sure he has). Generalizing is generalizing though. Some "realistic" games can certainly be good fun. The problem is, that too many western developers seem to just be pumping out different versions of the same shit these days, and it gets kind of old.
But to each their own.
