lulz, best thread in a long time rol!

..6 months ago i was leaning sony but not certain. i've been happy with sony but i honestly though MS had a chance to run away with the market. they did a lot of thing right last gen and sony has been in their financial crisis. had MS come out really strong and sony weak i would have considered switching. ..especially now that sony is charging for online multiplayer the switch could have been easy.

but over the last few weeks i'm certain that A) sony won't get left behind and B) i prefer sony's vision of the future and the way they treat their customers.

..some of the later details certainly makes the initial reaction a bit of an over reaction but i still don't think MS is approaching things right. the market was trending to digital regardless -- they should have just let the transition happen naturally instead of "helping the transition along". i think that is going to alienate a lot of people and i don't think MS fully vetted the various things their new system has.

major nelson still dodged the question about if we can play our game in 20 years when servers aren't guaranteed. i still don't like the "participating" part of participating retailers, free market ftw. I still haven't seen any advantage to their new system to make the hassles worth while. the library thing is cool but sony has a somewhat similar thing going on as well without all the DRM BS.

..had MS has some good stuff in the details. had they just vetting the system a bit better it could have been amazing instead of overly complex and inconvenient.

so would i have bought an xbone? perhaps not but MS made my decision very very easy.
