Talking about cool factor though, MS has very little. No one wanted Zune, no one want to use IE, no one wants to use Bing as they are all seem as lame. MS is really not seen as cool company. They are seen as really rich company. Don't get me wrong I actually like many MS products (im a PC, and I dislike apple). |
well disagree with the MS cool point being inexistant now a days... beside the geek community.... Ie is stil one of the most used browser and is definately the one that stood up time... and to be honnest one of the most performant if you skip the bad versions... bing is the fastest growing search engine especially in website integrated search.... and WP8 while not there yet as a decent showing so far with a steady increase, and even beats apple in developping country in terms of current sales.... and well Zune HD was way better than most of the competition but it didn't catch up more likely because apple marketing is/was really good at the time and gained a lot of traction....
bottom line I don't like apple and google I'm not a die hard MS fan (been on linux unbuntu/suze/mint etc for a while) but I really like what MS vision is for the future and I hope to succeed.... if half of what they have in their research center comes to life in the next decade or so I'll bee more than happy
