you are not elaborating.. how exactly?

from a gaming standpoint i have no interest in the X1. which is weird because i brought both X & X360 one launch..

well it's difficult to say.... conceptually Sony and Nintendo are already out.... living in a dying era of gaming and living room entertainment... whether the fans accept it or not Sony is just doing more of the same with more horse power a lot like PC gaming has done and we can see where itis going compare to other market like cellphones and tablets or even consoles.....
For nintendo it's a bit different but still.... MS is future proofing there concept across the board... this has caused already a lot of disruption in people's mind.... for better or for worse....
when you see and understand their vision with all the different businesses hey are in you know they are on the right track and have great concepts to embrace a new era of technology for several decades to come....
the question is, "Is the world ready for it???" right now I would say for the most part they are not.... they are like my grand grandma when they invented the washing machine.... the question is how fast the shift will happen....
and that can happen way faster today than it ever did before... when you see the market penetration of the first radio, then of the first TVs, tape player, cd player, dvd player, cellphone, smartphone, tablets.... you can see how increasingly fast the world can shift....
in 5 years we'll know if MS had the right vision for their business as whole or not.... until then it's pretty tough to say.... but one way or the other.... MS is a behemoth than can take a pounding and get up again and strike back harder.... fan or not a company like MS by its implication and relevance in so many businesses and public services is close to unbreakable....

This took the words out of my head.

still hard to understand this.. so how is the Xone Revolutionary? its graphics are abit worse then the PS4. its a huge negative for gamers and there pockets plus the TV capabilitys are basically just a Sky box menu.. in a Xbox.. there trying to solve a problem nobody had...

i dont see how your comparing the revolution of Radio, TV, MP3, Iphones and Tablets to.. a xbox? its just agmes console you plus your sky box in.

I wasn't comparing them to XB1 in terms of technological revolution directly but to illustrate the change of pace in the shit.... radio took decades to be main stream, TV too but a little less... and increasingly thing started to penetrate the main stream way faster.... smartphone took less than a decade and tablets is even getting faster...

and then I wasn't talking about XB1 as stand alone.... but about MS ecosystem as a whole.... the best illustration are the videos of MS future home or future vision they released a while back... XB1 is just part of whole at MS.... hence the huge talk you have at corporate head quarters about merging the win8/RT, WP8, and hardware department (surface/XB) into a single department in the near future..... this will lead to something more streamlined across the board...

in the pole you should have had google and apple more than sony and nintendo because for MS as whole those two company are a way more relevant competition than Sony or Nintendo ever was or ever will be....

now on PS4 being more powerful.... yeah then again not by much and we all know that raw power is not the only factor that maters.... now that being said you are omitting kinect 2 as many gamer does.... but voice command is getting more and more present on many devices and being used.... on smartphone it's getting traction, on computers too, I have worked in companies where they use it for typing drafts for businesses.... and personally while I'm not gaming on my XB360 I use kinect controls almost exclusively.... then you have motion control getting there too... it might not be perfect for gaming but stuff like kinect 2 or leap motion or even some samsung TVs proves that it's getting more and more common for people....

finally you have the potential of cloud computing, if some in that business can pull it off it's definately MS.... servers is a huge business at MS and devs are already used to work with the azure framework....

and about the skybox not being needed speak for yourself.... I have a big issue with having currently 5 remote/joypad for my entertainement center.... granted there are solution like universal remotes but the good ones that can handle mys system are really expensive and it is still one more remote than I want.... especially since I have a tendancy to break them really fast.... so maybe not for you but for people like me being able to control more stuff with a single device remotless is a huge huge huge selling point and something I have been waiting for ages and hoped the kinect 1 would have solved.....
