I doubt it will beat Wii. Also define ''win''. How do you ''win a console war''? Because with all the crazy amount of money lost on PS3 this gen, I'm not sure that if they outsell Wii we can say they ''won''.

Even aknowledging the term ''console war'' is something I'm not confortable with. Do we ever hear about a smartphone war? TV war? Car war? Fast Food war?

Totally agree, actually I think I responded to this a few days ago the same way.  Even if the PS3 eeks out a couple million more consoles in sales compared to the Wii, it's made far less money considering the BILLIONS it's lost on the console.  Meanwhile, every Wii sold since its launch has made a profit.  Nintendo has sold more total software than either Xbox or PS3.  And if PS3 catches up in that department too, it won't be as meaningful because Nintendo makes most of its money off FIRST PARTY GAMES!  The Wii will never be overtaken by PS3 in terms of sheer money making power.  Actually, I doubt it will even overtake the 360 in that department.  So calling it a win if it unexpectedly does surpass the Wii in sales is a little silly to me.

And I'm not one of those guys who claims to not be a fanboy as an excuse to bash a console.  Look at my profile and you'll see I've owned every Sony home console and haven't had a Nintendo console since SNES.  I just cringe when I see these baseless posts about console wars and put Sony as #1 during the 7th gen when it was the clear loser because it made the LEAST MONEY!  Thank the business gods that Sony learned its lesson and is taking a more humble approach with the PS4.  It may actually regain its PS2 glory if things continue to go over with the consumer and media.
