You're definitly not wrong in this thought. If anything, it's "wrong" for the industry if this thing succeeds. If the Xbone succeeds, gaming is done for IMO, at least for the common person. Developers will continue to get more greedy and take more and more rights from the consumer, and the costs will get farther out of reach for the common gamer. MS and third parties should not be rewarded for their DRM and anti-consumer policies.
