Every single product you listed loses value and functionality over time. Eventually a car will not run as well used as new and you have to put money into it. Everything you put on your list follows this same principle except for games which are expected to perform the exact same as new. DVDs aren't an argument as well since movie are exclusively in movie theaters for months before being sold. If you want games to be handled similar to movies then they should make them digital download only for the first 3 months then you can purchase discs and used after.
