Why is buying used games such a big deal nowadays?

Not every game needs to be AAA and just because a game doesnt cost 50 million or ehatever big blockbuster games cost, doesnt make them bad. They should focus on gameplay not graphics and other bullshit that raise the production costs. Were seeing games that dont sell mutliple millioms being considered failures. 

Square Enix is a good example, Tomb Raider, Sleeping Dogs and Hitman failed to meet sales expectations despite there being no reason SE thought they would sell that well.

THQ going under despite having 2 big franchises in Saints Row and Darksiders even tho those games were successful.

Idk maybe drop the budget in half and sell games at $40, they wont have to sell as many units to make the money and people will be more willing to try nee games.

Also I like the games how they are, thank you very much. Why should the standards drop to those who are so cheap they don't even support their favorite game producers. I know people in my family that always buy used, Always. One I talked out of it. however to many cheap skats out there. Sorry but I would rather check in than deal with more closing, cheaper games play and less visuals to satisfy all that, that can never be satisfied.

Oh also, if they drop the price to $40, gamestop will just beat them by $5 bucks. People are cheap. How about the game comes down because it's so profitable they are able to do it, just to keep selling it.

Im not saying standards need to be dropped but if a game sells 3 million copies but doesnt turm a profit then theres something wrong and blocking used games isnt the answer. I dont usually buy used games but I sell my games after a few play throughs to fund buying new games since I cant shell out $60 every month for games.
