I don' think Japan matters.

1. I don't think they have any software to cater the japanese this year.
2. The success of the PS4 WW will garuntee it japanese development from big studios like Capcpm/Square/studio 5 in future.
3. The japanese really aren't too hot for home consoles anyway. Realistically we're look at what? 20k a week if it does well. Most Japanese developers will continue pushing handhelds as usual. Nintendo is unique in that there 1st party content is really big in japan and will push the wii U, whereas with sony this has never been the case and nothing they could release would stop people from buying Mario Kart or Smash Bros. Even the few Japnese games Sony releases don't do well ove there.
