Well, Microsoft has a track record here already.

When Microsoft ceased the PlayForSure DRM solution and moved onto the PlayReady DRM solution, all the content available through PlayForSure worked with PlayReady.  If Microsoft ceased using the DRM solution on the Xbox One than the content would still be accessible using the new solution's servers.  The content itself would still be playable on the Xbox One, the servers  and the services themselves would just be different.

Are you willing to take that gamble? Because that's what it is... A gamble.

Plenty of Microsoft games have had their servers shut off in the past preventing multiplayer on the PC, modders actually had to do a bit of work to get it functioning again.
Plus, I'm pretty sure all the DLC and other stuff that was available on Live! for the origional Xbox is no longer available and they shut that off only a couple of years ago.
