I believe that places like Ebay and Gamestop which sell used games do effect game sales but only a few weeks to months after launch because if a game is offered cheaper and is able to return the game within a number of days if he/she does not like it then why would you buy the game new unless it was a series you were already a fan of? Idk if its just me but its very hard to drop $60 on a brand new game where you are unsure about weather it will cater to your needs and i have a good job with a large gaming budget so i can just think of the ones who are living at home or make minimum wage.
DRM will not bring that market back at least not at full price,because if a game is $60 and it has gotten average reviews i will not be shelling out for that game intill its been lowered into $30 to $40 price range.So why even try to win a market which is unwinnable,if your game is good it will get the sales the first few months it deserves but if its a crap shoot quit trying to blame it on the "Used" and "Rental" market to why it sold like "Ban Guns" stickers at a NRA meeting
