This seems to be a huge feature - I just wonder why Microsofts PR didn't use this as a selling point. I am actually quite ok with everything mentioned so far about the Xbox One but understand why so many are turned off by their DRM-/Online-restrictions. MS clearly does a very poor job in selling their new console as of now (excluding their strong games line-up) and Sony exploits this weakness heavily.
Yes, for now, we can only speculate what to make of this, but even considering possible not-mentioned details, I cannot image that this turns out to be bad for customers.
Furthermore, as many have argumented in this thread, this feature is just in theory exploitable but practically the risk for this to effectivily happen is rather small:
- while a game is *hot*, it would be inconvenient for your 10 friends-family to wait until it is their turn
- gamesharing via big forums? that would be even more inconvenient; who buys the games? how are the costs shared? does the actual game owner really want to change his "family" all the time, just because random guys want to try the game?! no way...
It sounds like a smart feature in many ways (not only for consumers). Of course Sony is able to copy that. But if it turns out to be true, then Sony actually has to come up with something similar.
bizarre-galaxy.de - My Browsergame, but sadly only in german :(
You can play as an octopus, though!
