The best thing to do would be not to give in and allow Microsoft to use the Xbox One as an excuse to impose more restrictions. And not just Microsoft, if people buy the Xbox One and validate Microsofts anti consumer policies then it means that other companies in the console market will migrate over to a similar system, and other industries will migrate over to a similar system. How long until our DVD players require an internet connection and block/control used movies. How long till my Kindle won't work unless i verify i'm not a criminal every day via the internet.

Microsoft are taking away our rights as consumers and as gamers we should stand up to this and say NO. Doesn't matter if you're the biggest Xbox fan, Nintendo fan or Sony fan (Or Ouya fan :P ) We all need to agree not to purchase the Xbox One to send a message to Microsoft that we will not support this.

Consumers are powerful and can change things. By doing this Microsoft may reconsider their stratagy and do away with their software based restrictions. It's a long shot but it could work. And only then should the Xbox One be considered as a gaming console to buy.

I know people will say they are going to buy it because it doesn't affect them. But it does, it gives other industries the rights to impose similar restrictions, it means that if you're internet goes down or if Xbox Live goes down you can't play games, it means that if you want to sell a game for money then you'll get a limited amount of credit through a selected retailer. The Xbox One affects everyone.

The good thing about the PS4 or the Wii U is that it's giving consumers a choice. Consumers should not be dictated on what to buy and how to buy it like Microsoft is doing. We should not be forced into the digital age when it's proven that the world is not ready yet.

I know this is a long read but i appreciate anyone who took the time out to read it. I just need to say this as i don't want to see my hobby die in the next generation.

No doubt some fanboy will try and justify everything. But from a consumer point of view this cannot be justified. At all.
