Everyone in the world watched and loved the X1's reveal while they were on their magic carpets. Sadly, that statement holds as much "facts" as your whole argument about mainstream media outlets and 360 million people...

 

I'm talking about the Champions League final. 360M viewers. That's a lot of people to reach out to. And with 34M likes on PS Facebook page, I think it's safe to safe that most gamers already know that the PS4 is coming. Keep in mind that this isn't the same target audience as what Nintendo caters to.
